Sam Somech

Chairman of the Board

Sam Somech is one of the leading experts on middleware messaging technologies. An experienced and successful entrepreneur, he has an extensive track record transforming new technologies into profitable new businesses – from initial concepts to development and commercialization. Sam was the president, CTO and co-founder of Level 8 (NASD: LVEL), as well as founder and CEO of Data Voice Systems, where he developed the concept for the first transactional messaging product, which was the foundation of IBM MQSeries. Sam received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, an M.Sc. in computer science from Columbia University and an MBA from Baruch College.

Gigi Levy-Weiss

Board Member

Gigi is a founding partner of the NFX Guild, the Networks and Marketplaces Guild in the Silicon Valley. He is a founder, angel investor and board
member in many technology start ups such as Playtika, Kenshoo, Plarium, MyHeritage, Optimove, Meerkat, R2Net, SimilarWeb, SweetIM, Eyeview Digital, RealMatch,, NanoRep, Superfly, SpaceApe, SpeakingPal and inceptionVR and many others.
Gigi serves on the Supervisory Board of SE & Co. KGaA as well as on the client advisory council of Facebook.
Till April 2011 Gigi served as the CEO of 888 Holdings (LSE: 888.L), one of the world’s leading online gaming entertainment companies. Prior to this role, Gigi worked for Amdocs, a world leading software provider and systems integrators for the Telecom market (NYSE: DOX), where he was Division President managing Amdocs’ activity in Europe, Central and Latin America.
Earlier in his career, Gigi held several management roles in various companies in Israel and the UK. Before entering the business world, Gigi served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
Gigi holds an MBA from the Kellogg school of management in the Northwestern University.
Gigi sits on the board of MEET (Middle East Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow), the prominent Israeli-Palestinian educational organization and is a member of the advisory board of the Technology Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship MBA in the Tel Aviv University.
Gigi is married to Daphi Levy-Weiss and is the father of Alex, Michael and Itamar, his 3 most important start-ups. They live in Ramat Hasharon, Israel.

Shai Levy

Board Member

Mr. Shai Levy has been the CEO of ProSeed Venture Capital Fund Ltd (traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange as TLV:PRSD) since 2012. Mr. Levy has a key role in managing ProSeed fund’s investments, deal flow, financing and M&A as well as serving on a variety of companies’ Boards of Directors in a wide range of industries. Mr. Levy gained broad-based management experience with investments in the U.S, Europe and Israel in various sectors mostly focusing on High-Tech, Real Estate and Family Office. Prior to Joining ProSeed, Mr. Levy served as the Chief Financial & Investment Officer for the Tahari Family in New York for over 5 years, as Director of Financial Reporting & Compliance at the Deutsch Inc, New York (a part of Interpublic Group NYSE:IPG), auditor at PwC, New York and at Ernst and Young Israel. Mr. Levy holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance from Tel-Aviv University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Israel.

Lanir Shacham

Founder and CEO

Lanir brings over 20 years of experience in the software industry. Lanir built Correlsense from the grounds up as Founder & CEO in the first incubation years, then as CTO supervising Product Management and Customer Relations together with developing Channels and Partners to expand Correlsense presence in the market. Prior to founding Correlsense, Lanir was a senior member of IBM Global Technology Unit, responsible for generating technical and business relations with the Israeli high tech community. Earlier in his career, he served as a Chief Architect and R&D manager for Indocs Online, a start-up that developed a unique service for the pre-print industry. Before this, as an officer in the IDF Intelligence Corps, he led the development of Big Data systems of Knowledge Management. Lanir is a graduate of the MAMRAM IDF computer academy and holds a B.Sc in Computer Science and a M.Sc in Physics from Bar Ilan University. He is on advisory boards of early stage companies, and is lecturing on entrepreneurship at the Hebrew University Business School. When not flying for business, he likes to find the best waves to surf on.

Oren Elias


Oren founded Correlsense with Lanir Shacham, Correlsense’s CTO, in 2005 and has over 16 years of experience in the software industry. In 1997, he founded Internative Solutions, a provider of knowledge management solutions for contact centers, which was sold in 2004. Prior to founding Internative Solutions, he was an IT expert for Vocaltec Communications. Earlier, while serving in the Army, he developed knowledge management systems. Oren studied Economics and Computer Science at Bar Ilan University. He founded Correlsense with the idea that in order to solve, rather than detect, the IT bottleneck problem, data collected from the IT infrastructure must be correlated and analyzed into meaningful context. In his free time, Oren likes to go scuba diving.

Jacob Ukelson

D.Sc, Advisor

Jacob Ukelson is a well respected technology figure, with a proven track record of excellence and leadership. Previously, Ukelson was CTO of Itemfield (acquired by Informatica), as well as CTO and Business Development Manager for IBM’s Global Technology Unit. Prior to these roles, he was a department general manager at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Lab in New York, managing a group of 130 cross-disciplinary researchers focused on creating the next generation of the Internet at the middleware and application level. Ukelson received his Doctorate of Science in computer science from the Technion University in Israel. His work has been published in several leading journals and he is a well known speaker at conferences worldwide. In 1997, Jacob received the Alexander C. Williams Ergonomics and Human Factors Award from the Human Factors Society.

Prof. Itamar Procaccia

Chief Scientific Advisor

Prof. Itamar Procaccia, a pioneer in the interdisciplinary field of chaos research, has served as Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry at the Weizmann Institute since 1989. The aim of his research is to describe and quantify complex natural phenomena. The recipient of many awards, he was three times appointed a Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. He was appointed the UNESCO Professor in Science and Sustainable Development for Latin America for the period 1995–2000. He has held visiting professorships at Columbia University, the University of Chicago, Rockefeller University, Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques in France, and NORDITA in Denmark. Prof. Itamar Procaccia holds the Barbara and Morris L. Levinson Chair in Chemical Physics.
