Correlsense Announces SharePath

Correlsense, a leading provider of IT Reliability(TM) solutions through business transaction management, today announced SharePath, a software product that provides a breakthrough in IT reliability by tracing business transactions across all their hops — from a click by the end-user, through all the data center layers and applications and back to the end-user.

Business transactions touch many layers of infrastructure and applications across wide networks, with downtime and poor performance directly impacting revenue, brand, and customer loyalty/retention. With SharePath, if a problem occurs IT will know immediately where, why, and who is affected, and can immediately correct within the proper business context.

Via SharePath, every single transaction and activation is recorded and correlated to provide for the first time both a birds-eye and detailed view of the connections across the four dimensions (4D) of end-users, applications, infrastructure and business processes, enabling full accountability of every single action within every single application.

For example, if a customer performs an online fund transfer, for each step SharePath measures response and latency through the network, amount of time the transaction has taken, and automatically discovers the path each transaction takes; then documents in real time all transaction topologies in the data center.

Data is collected and produced automatically (including topology auto-discovery and inter-dependencies) enabling IT organizations to better manage SLAs, performance, capacity, and do automatic root cause analysis at a level never before possible.

Easy-to-use dashboards enable deep and highly contextual data analysis, both from a “bottom up” and “top down” perspective via views which can take any slice or window of time and “replay” it to discover anomalies or discrepancies within response times/SLAs.

In addition to rapid problem resolution, the rich data in SharePath reliability management database (RMDB) can also be used for auditing and archiving of every business transaction, security, capacity planning, change management, population of configuration management databases (CMDB), and chargebacks.

Moreover, SharePath works in concert with other system and performance management tools, which typically are focused on identifying problems at individual components (servers, data bases, etc.), to provide a complete business transaction perspective that can be used for both proactive planning and problem resolution.

“Before an IT organization can be proactive about strategic contribution to the business, it needs to make sure business transactions are processed as fast and as accurately as possible, and the most important metric when it comes to application performance and IT reliability is if business transactions are performed and if end-users are happy. CPU and memory consumption may be low, but if something is causing the end-user to suffer from bad response times or failed transactions it is going to be the only thing that matters. SharePath will accurately detect and pinpoint any problem and ensure rapid resolution and reliable IT,” said Oren Elias, Correlsense founder and CEO.

SharePath uses patent-pending technology to automatically discover and correlate all of the transactions that flow through IT, storing them in its RMDB in real time. This includes a transaction data base, with “transaction flows” raw data, and an OLAP cube view of users, transactions, transaction segments, tiers, servers and everything that transactions touch.

For each step it measures response and latency through the network and amount of time the transaction has taken. SharePath automatically discovers the path each transaction takes across datacenter tiers, and documents in real time all transaction topologies in the data center.

SharePath is deployed on all the logical components that compose an application in a production environment such as proxies, web servers, application servers, databases, LDAP servers, queue managers, and proprietary applications. Additionally, SharePath enables customers from the bottom up to manage any programming environment, application server, web server, and database using the same collection technology across all architecture component brand releases and versions.

“When the help desk receives a call from a disgruntled user, or a monitoring tool detects that response times are exceeding SLA, customers want visibility into what exactly is affecting that specific end user’s response time. SharePath works side-by-side with other monitoring tools to fill that gap and provide the granular data that is needed,” continued Elias.

SharePath is platform independent, can be rapidly deployed, and regardless of the operating environment requires no changes in application code. Moreover, once installed SharePath has nominal impact within the operating environment versus other tools that have much more overhead or require instrumentation of applications.

About Correlsense
Correlsense SharePath provides a quantum leap in IT Reliability(TM) by enabling for the first time both a birds-eye and detailed view of the connections across the four dimensions (4D) of end-users, applications, infrastructure and business processes. While other service management and performance management applications focus on identifying problems at individual components (servers, data bases, etc.), SharePath automatically understands each transaction end-to-end, in a solution that traces business transactions across all their hops from a click in the browser through all the data center layers and back. By enabling every single transaction and activation to be recorded and correlated, IT gains visibility and full accountability into every single action within every single application, and gathers the transaction metrics to ensure IT Reliability(TM) by providing an actionable assessment for optimizing performance, usage and troubleshooting. Correlsense (www.correlsense.com) was founded in 2005 and is privately held.
