A system outage for American Airlines has just caused all flights to be grounded until further notice. This incident speaks to a great need for application performance management in today’s large enterprises. Solutions exist which can prevent such widespread issues from occurring.
American Airlines’ reservations and booking tool, Sabre, was offline on Tuesday, grounding all mainline departures through 3 p.m. ET. The company gave little other information regarding the outage and attempts to reach the company for comment were not immediately successful. The Federal Aviation Administration said it does not have any additional comments on the outage.
