CIOs are being tasked to deal with big data projects at an increasing rate. Ironically, many tools which can assist in this projects create big data problems themselves. Such is the case with application performance management. When monitoring today’s complex, multi-layered applications the amount of performance data creating is astonishing. Have an APM tool which can correlate this APM data is paramount.
The reality is that big data is, well, big. Most enterprise have some sort of big data project under way, and they see much the same benefits as Vogels does, such as the move to real-time analytics, including predictive analytics that CIOs believe will add a huge amount of value to what enterprise IT can do.
